Great stay at the Sheraton
Great stay at the Sheraton. We had to pivot from our trip to Maui and were unsure what to expect from our first trip to Kauai. I am also Platinum Elite so my review reflects that. The location was great- 15 minutes from the airport and located on the eastern side of the island which gives you good access to the North and South. Yes, its difficult to swim at the beach located at the hotel but that is fairly common when visiting Kauai. If you have a car, you can access other beaches and parts of the Island very easily. Parking was also free which was nice. The hotel is also in walking distance to a CVS, Safeway and a number of restaurants. We did not drive to dinner or lunch during our 4 days given the accessibility. The hotel itself has been renovated over the last few years which made this property one of the better Marriott properties on Kauai- we enjoyed the pool which was basically on the beach - it was busy but big enough to where you had your own space. We had breakfast at the hotel daily as it was included due to our status. Note that we only had 4 dishes to select from and not the entire menu or buffet as other hotels offer with status. No big deal for us as the 4 options kept us satisfied. We did not eat dinner or lunch at the hotel but did enjoy the happy hour at the hotel pool from 3-5. There was also live music daily starting at 530 which was enjoyable. Lastly, we were upgraded to an ocean front view which was great- we slept with our balcony doors open each night and really enjoyed the views at sunrise. Overall, it is a great hotel with great staff who made our trip enjoyable.

Micah, at the front desk, is awesome!
We had a nice time staying at the Sheraton for our wedding. After we made an unfortunate room booking mistake, and after several calls to Marriott corporate (who wouldn't help), Micah at the front desk was able to work MAGIC to help us rebook our rooms, last minute. Micah is a great guy, and you if have the pleasure of meeting him when you check in, you'll see that he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about the quality of your stay. Thank you, Micah!

Micah at check in was very friendly. And lastly, Karen helped us book a fun excursion day. Thank you to all for making Kauai memorable!!

Convenient location!
This is my second time in Kauai having previously stayed in the north and south. This is my first time staying in between the two points of Poipu and Hanalei. I must say that the location of this hotel is beyond convenient. On days that were sunny and dry, we headed up to Hanalei and on rainy and cloudy days, we headed down to Poipu. Arrival to the hotel was very easy from LIH. Leilani helped check me in and she was a delight. She was so pleasant, warm and helpful to suggestions and questions that i might have had. Kapena, part of the bell staff that helped unload our car and our luggage to our room was so friendly and warm. It was very easy to strike up conversations with him. He always greeted my kiddos whenever we'd pass by on our way to our daily adventure. The hotel has a coffee bar that opens at 5:30am and at opening, it is bustling due to the time change. Priscilla and Kiersten were often the team that was working the coffee bar while hustling to drinks and orders, they kept it inviting and jovial. The rooms are a decent size. Clean. Bathtubs available. Our room was on the 1st floor with a walk out lanai to the beach area which was very convenient with the little kids. The pool while not large or fancy was the highlight for my kids. They have a great shallow kids pool...shallow enough that they didn't need their vest or puddle jumpers. Conveniently located by the property is the Coconut Beach Marketplace which has the Island Gourmet Market and various restaurants and shops. Self parking is an easy option here which is nice to not have to wait for your car each time you want to leave the property. Our stay ended with a delightful Lissa checking us out. I'd highly recommend this property if you're considering a stay on this side of the island.
