Spring Break Policies -
1. Student / Spring Breaker Groups (21 years of age or older) will be accepted ONLY at Riu Cancun & Riu Caribe
2. All Student / Spring Breaker Group reservations are strictly On Request and will be reviewed on a case by case basis by the corresponding Destination Sales Department. RIU Hotels & Resorts reserves the right of admission and may reject any request at its sole discretion.
3. If a Student / Spring Breaker Group is accepted:
a. The number of rooms will be deducted from the contracted allotments
b. Minimum Age requirement: 21 years of age or older.
c. The Hotel may request proof of age in the form of passport or official ID
d. Each room must submit a signed liability agreement upon check-in.
4. At all other RIU properties Student Groups / Spring Breakers (either groups or individuals, regardless of age) are not allowed at any time during the year.
5. Guests disturbing or generating complaints from other guests or hotel may be removed from the property, at their own expense. a. Parties in rooms are not permitted
6. Student / Spring Breaker Groups must comply with any protocols (hotel and government) in place at the time of stay at the hotel.
Transfer Policy - A price may display when children stay free, if your vacation includes transfer to your hotel.
Reservation changes may not be permitted unless authorized by the hotel.

Exceptional service from day one to day fourteen. This hotel is run so professionally, there is nothing negative to say. If I had to pick one negative, from our room you can sometimes here people during the later hours of the night partying but that isn’t the hotels fault and this only happened three of the nights there. Positives, everything else, from service, to food, to activities.

I was a bit worried the hotel would be really noisy after reading some of the reviews but it was really quiet apart from one night during our 10 night stay. The rooms are clean but getting a bit tired. The beds were very comfortable. Our room had a bit of an earthy smell but was ok. The air con worked well. We got upgraded to an ocean view room as it was our 20th wedding anniversary. The hotel staff also decorated our room for this occasion and gave us a bottle of fizz. The staff are so hard working and friendly. We did tip on quite a few occasions but you aren’t made to feel you have to. If you want to try out the specialist restaurants you need to get there early or be prepared to wait. You will be given a timer so it is no hassle. You just go back when your table is ready. The drinks are pretty good. There are lots of branded alcoholic drinks as well as local spirits. If you want to drink you can do it 24/7. The location is good if you want to explore the local area. And there are lots of excursions you can do with a hotel pick up. The beach is stunning and the pools are great. We preferred the quiet pool area, especially as it gave more shade in the afternoon. I have stayed in nicer Riu hotels in terms of quality of bedroom but I would stay here again if I went back to Cancun.

Wasn't to bad
Where to start on arrival me and my partner checked in and was given a horrible room ie bed was absolutely dirty the aircon didn't work and also the fridge was not working this wasn't a issue for them to change our room and the second room was a lot better the rooms are very outdated but the cleaners are excellent and make sure they do a very good job everyday also restock of the fridge was excellent as it is very hot in cancun lol So I'm now going to speak on the food the food wasn't disgusting but its also not the best but the waiters can not do enough for you they are so polite and go out there way for you and they don't expect a tip neither as I'm from the UK we don't do tips over here so it's kinda weird feeling like you have to so it's a good thing they don't expect The pools on the what i would say the quite side are very nice as for the other pools we didn't go in them due to people being sick in the pools And pooing Also there needs to he something in place about reserving sunbeds as people seem to wake up at 5 in the morning to put the towels down and go back to sleep I have never known this anywhere I have been especially it being a (5star) hotel I'd say more 3 maybe a 4 at a push this I found was a issue If your planning on going here I would say you either learn some Spanish or just go about your day as not all the staff speak English at times this is a major issue in my opinion Apart from that cancun is absolutely beautiful and very safe for people wondering I would 1 million percent return back but I wouldn't go back to this hotel unfortunately

I’m very sad and dissapointed with our stay. On our first day within just a few hours of checking in someone came in our room and stole several valuable items from our bags. They took jeans, shoes and a watch. I’m absolutely heart broken that this would happen in a place like this. We reported it but nothing was done. The thief knew what he was doing as he only took brand name items. Also, during our 4-night stay we were not able to have dinner at any of the sit down restaurants because they were full!! The worse experience I’ve had at any resort. The place is very pretty and staff are very nice, but getting robbed has left a terrible impression on me

Awful, would not recommend.
Definitely would not recommend this hotel. We paid over £3000 for a week, to have belongings stolen, when this was reported to the staff at reception they were smirking and speaking between them in Spanish and were very unhelpful. The audacity of someone stealing a pair of £100 sandals and the hotel staff asking why they weren’t in the safe, who in their right mind puts shoes in a safe. When we asked what the hotel were going to do regarding this they advised that TUI had already resolved our complaint, I do not appreciate this as they are two separate companies and as much as TUI did help us the hotel also have a responsibility to resolve such issues, but all I was given was an email address which again is not acceptable. The rooms are absolutely disgusting, when you are paying that amount of money for a 5* hotel you expect 5 stars. When we arrived there were multiple stains on the sheets, we requested these to be changed and every time after the sheets were still stained, there was a horrible damp smell and mold/spores present in the bathroom, the room was just generally dirty. The safe also looked as though it had been drilled into previously and rather than replacing this they filled in the hole with some type of silicone/glue, how can anyone feel there belongings are safe when there safe looks like that. The bar staff we cannot fault however avoid the speciality restaurants as the food was such poor quality, 2 nights we left without even eating our dinner due to how bad this was.
