    Heavenly

Absolutely loved it here! Spotlessly clean room thanks to our maid IGNACIA who went above and beyond to make our stay special, doing everything with a lovely smile every day. Buffet food was very good, not hot as you’d have it at home but perfectly acceptable, clean and varied. Our rep did explain why it’s not kept too hot and it made perfect sense I just can’t remember what she said 😆. The food was varied and plenty of it with options to have certain things (seafood, omelettes etc) cooked freshly for you. The beach was lovely and plenty of sunbeds with shade. Yes some ‘looky looky’ men but they are not persistent. The A la carte restaurants were all good. Our favourite was Tequila where the staff were even more hospitable than most, hangovers were had in the morning 🍹. All staff everywhere were very willing to help, nothing was ever too much trouble. I would give a higher rating if they sorted out the sunbed situation around the pool. It’s honestly ridiculous. By 8am all beds have towels on them!!! The pool gets quite noisy at midday with the music so we found the beach more relaxing and as I said, plenty of beds too. With the added bonus of chicken rice etc being cooked in the hut. Ladies serving drinks too means you don’t have to even need to leave your sunbed! We tipped most people a $1-2 USD and it’s so appreciated but it’s not necessary, but they’re working so hard in such hot conditions and always with a smile so they deserve it. As I said we’d go back tmw if the sunbed/pool situation was resolved

    Luxury experience, exceptional hospitality service.

Good evening, My family and I just returned home from a 6 day stay at the Bahia Principe Ambar in Punta Cana. Just wanted to highlight that although our stay was not the most joyful of experience due to some minor hotel systematic communications and setbacks with the excursion coordinators they allow on the property to sell their excursion packages. I must say that both; Franklin and Desiree, both servers near building (67), were amazing and incredibly accomodating. Their +1 customer service is second to none and deserve acknowledgement for their efforts of making each guest feel welcome and have the best possible experience. They both went above and beyond to ensure that we felt at home during our stay while we dined and enjoyed the hotels amenities. I cannot express this enough!! Please share my thanks with them both, as they are both incredible assets to your everyday operations. Thank you kindly, The Velez’s -NYC

Luxury Amber is not a 5 star resort

So the grounds of the Bahia Principe resorts including the luxury ambar are pretty well maintained and has nice landscaping and is clean and the beach is also very nice but after that things go downhill fast. Upon arrival to the hotel I ordered a beer and for an all-inclusive all they had was a semi-warm lager in a 7 oz plastic cup. The consistency of the beer changed at each bar as they had problems with their tap systems. The bar drinks weren't any better All the fruity bar drinks weren't made with real fruit juice rather a really bad bar mix filled with sugar. There was also no consistency in the drinks as each bartender made them differently. Unfortunately the food was just not good either. You couldn't actually get real juice anywhere. The orange juice reminded me of a breakfast product called Tang in the 1980s. The à la carte restaurants did not live up to their names. At the fish market you couldn't actually order a piece of fish that wasn't on the menu but you can get chicken or vegetables or a seafood tidbit plate at the chef's discretion Sure you can get a fajita at the Mexican restaurant but it doesn't come with sour cream salsa guac lettuce tomato shredded cheese rice or beans so it's really not a fajita. No point in going further with the bland food. Even though it was all inclusive we were hounded at least 15 times a day with upsells. You couldn't relax at dinner as they were constantly in front of your face with laminated pictures of upgraded $72 seafood meals or $45 steak meals and upgrades of half and full bottles of wine. All over the property you were approached to buy extra tours and trips. You couldn't even take a nap at the beach they would wake you up trying to sell you something. This got very old after a few days. The pool entertainment had no variety just the same 12 dance songs over and over you'd hear the same song in the same hour twice then there'll be hours with no music at all. What really took everything over the top was when we were checking out when we went to collect our luggage in our room the battery and the door died and we could not gain entry. We were ahead of schedule for our taxi back to the airport but we couldn't find anyone at the hotel with that was willing to assist us get in the door. In a 1 hour period I approached eight different people including management and walked back to the front lobby three times and no one really seemed to care have any urgency. It took them over an hour to send the proper person to open the door in 5 second. We missed our prepaid taxi and almost missed our flight. I reached out to the hotel with my only concern being the lack of help to get the door open and kindly asked for a refund for a prepaid taxi that we missed by no fault of our own and they politely denied it and gave a generic message that they would let the management know how to correct a situation if the problem arises in the future. This resort is neither luxury or five star. We will not return to any of their brands. Also I should add I'm 55 years old and this is the first bad review I've ever written in my life. Thanks for reading.

    Amazing experience

I came to Punta cana for the first this summer 2023 to luxury Ambar. My experience was amazing, the food and service were great! I spent most of the time by the pool and the entertainment were so much fun! King Kong’s exercise activities kept me active during the day. Braynel’s Spanish classes were so fun and informative. The team is absolutely amazing and were the best part of this trip! I highly recommend coming here if you want endless fun!

    Great time at Bahia Principe!

Excellent animation. Everybody was so nice and energetic - Julio, King Kong, Cileni, Eduin, Brayner, Jeyson and Ricardo. The rooms were always well cleaned. The food from the buffet and several restaurants was delicious. Would recommend to anyone who wants to make unforgettable memories and have a good time!
