For many years, Punta Cana has been the most popular destination for tourism in the travel industry due to its Caribbean charm and affordability. With news headlines surfacing about safety concerns last year, the Dominican Republic saw a decline this year in their tourism. Punta Cana hotels refuse to be defined by these happenings, and are here to provide a promise of security to all travelers.
Back in December 2019, 50 participating hotels in the Dominican Republic have come together and pledged their promise to safety to reaffirm confidence in their travelers. In the 8 points below, these hotels touch on their ongoing commitment safety and security, from rigorous employee background checks, to food safety management.
Many hotels in the Dominican Republic have stepped up to join this promise, and the list is only growing. You can find the list of participating hotels HERE.
So, what do these hotels have in common? First and foremost is their care for travelers. While tourism is a huge source of revenue, it is mainly about meeting new people and being able to introduce them to the Dominican culture – something very important to the natives. Another thing they have in common is that they all pride themselves on providing guests with the best level of service possible. These hotels have joined together to not just meet expectations of travelers, but to exceed them.
Since this Punta Cana Promise has been put into place, we have had a few team members travel to the Dominican Republic. One of our team members, Ashley, traveled recently and shared, “Travel to the Dominican was a breeze. Their airport is well organized and easy to navigate. Upon leaving, it was easy to find our transportation with Amstar. They helped us with our bags, offered us beverages, and were just so friendly each step of the way. Our drive to the hotel was seamless and we always felt safe in our surroundings, even going somewhere new!” She followed with, “The BEST beach I have ever been to! Wide, clean, beautiful and it stretched for what seemed like forever.”
Another team member of ours, Amber, talked about her wonderful experience in the Dominican Republic and shared, “The resort was beautiful, and the beach was pristine. Everyone who worked at the resort was so welcoming. Don’t miss the excursion out to Catalina Island…the water was blue it almost hurt my eyes to look at it!”
In short, these hotels define this promise as followed, “Simply put, the Punta Cana Promise is a commitment, our word, highlighting the measures each participating hotel undergoes with regards to safety and customer service.” Adding, “It’s a promise from us, to you and your family. Just look for the Punta Cana Promise Seal when booking.”
The Punta Cana Promise is in place to ensure all measures are being taken to guarantee travelers' safety, and this will remain for years to come. With this promise, Punta Cana is taking back what was once theirs, as they take all necessary steps to remain a safe and beautiful place to travel. We are excited for the future of the Dominican Republic, and hope you are too!
