    Fantastic

Overall 5 star rating very impressive, top notch FANTASTIC clean hotel, hands on staff, HIGHLY recommended. Customer service and daily smile best INVESTMENT. Although I had small issues, at front desk, for some reason I asked for Brown mesh bag with 2 handles, front clerk clerk arranged to have it delivered in 4006 and found canvas laundry bag on the dresser, is not what I asked for, I returned the canvas laundry bag at front desk Sept 15/23 the day before my check out Sept 16/23, was disappointed. I cause front desk misunderstood? Who ever his name was, he could’ve resolved this matter. Thank you kindly L. McNally

    Great holiday and hotel

We have just returned from 10 days at the Riu Palace Macao following it reopening after a refurbishment. We arrived 3 days after it reopened. Firstly the standard was as to be expected by the Riu brand - the refurbished areas, including bars/restaurants/ room were lovely. Staff were friendly attentive and helpful - you couldn't go longer than 5 mins without being offered a drink whether at the pool, in a bar or restaurant. Rooms were lovely and clean (we had a standard double on 4th floor), air conditioned and included 4 optics (vodka, gin, rum, brandy). We had to ask for the mini bar to be stocked when we arrived and reported a shower issue which was rectified fairly quickly. Balcony was small, but enough for the two of us. Beach was stunning, palm trees providing shade. Sea was alittle rough (due to impact of hurricane Lee) and sea weed washed up regularly but this was cleared best they could. Three pools, main/small/pool bar. Water was fairly warm even first thing in the morning. Lots of sunbeds with and without shade. Cabanas also available but generally difficult to get as very popular and hotel do nothing to prevent people reserving by putting towels out in early hours of morning. The hotel needs to rectify this to make it fair for all. The pools weren't included in the refurbishment and do look tired, with several loose tiles noted. Spa was beautifully decorated but unfortunately water temperatures and many of the shower features weren't working correctly. Note: spa is inside but is open to the outside so I was bit several times by mosquitoes on my face and neck while using the spa pools. Spa treatments were very expensive when compared to UK so didnt try any. 4 gourmet restaurants plus buffet. We only tried the steakhouse but this was great and we ate there 3 times. Service was poor on one evening which seemed to be due to a wedding party. Only the Japanese and the buffet are air conditioned. Buffet restaurant is quite small. Breakfast was generally quite good. Lunch and dinner while there was variety, it seemed to offer the same things daily with some "themed" items thrown in the mix. All in all, we had a great holiday and would consider returning however we would like to try the other side of the island before we do. Hotel is still working out some of its teething problems post refurbishment which is too be expected. If management want to improve then they should focus on these little issues with the showers, improving the buffet and some improvement works around the pool areas.

Horrendous hotel it is not finished and shouldn’t be open to the paying public

We have been here since Sunday after the reopening. To say the hotel isn’t fit for use is an understatement. We landed Sunday afternoon after a ten hour flight from the uk. We paid 3.5 thousand pound for the TUI holiday and then 500 dollars extra for a delux room. We arrived at the delux room with no hot water and no air conditioning. We reported it and was told in thirty minutes it would be fixed and to wait in our room until engineer came. We waited for over two hours and called reception was told wait a further hour he will be there. We waited again nothing! We ended up going for dinner and waiting to see if we could get it sorted afterwards. Still nothing sorted Sunday, Monday or Tuesday we ended up getting sorted after staying up all night long Tuesday night with engineers in our room that we sauced ourselves nothing to do with the hotel! The hotel reception staff are a disgrace, the two supervisors are rude and disrespectful towards women, he wouldn’t allow me to talk and kept taking over me in Spanish which is beyond disrespectful to a guest who they have caused no end of misery after I’ve paid £4000 to stay in their unfinished hotel. I have pictures and videos of all the work that is STILL being done to the hotel which I will be sharing to TUI to prove how disgusting it is that the hotel has even opened when nothing is finished it’s basically a building site. We have just now been told we are being moved after five days of not being able to enjoy our holiday so we’ve had to re pack everything in order to move to a room that has hot water and AC! The saga very much continues unfortunately and all I want to do now to be honest is to go home I’m so upset and so let down by both RIU and TUI My advice, steer clear don’t waste your hard earned cash on the hotel as the staff on reception are a disgrace and if you have similar problems like us then it will take you almost a week into your holiday to get them solved. Avoid this hotel at all costs

    TUI rip off

Extremely tired & dilapidated, Extremely disappointed that TUI are selling this as 5 star it was more like a 2 star. Rowdy, no security to control the drunk & Rowdy guests, I'm all for fun on holiday but the noise went on all night we rarely got to sleep before 5am. Staff were friendly but their service had a price, prepare to tip well as service is for the highest bidder
